Lydia Chang first visited Maine from Malaysia when she was a little girl of six. A few years later, her family moved to the state. After several years, they left Maine but Maine did not leave her. She returned to the state as a college freshwoman; when she graduated as a software engineer, her condition for employment was to stay in Maine while liaising with their corporate headquarters in a big city in another state. Her roots deepened. She is now a homeowner in Maine with a scattering of chickens in her backyard. She loves to ski on its mountains and run after her Saint Bernard and Bernese Mountain Dog on its beaches.
